Here is a foreign bank that will store gold for you in a custodial account. Austrian banks respect privacy as much as Swiss banks, and this one is a liquid, safe bank.

Is America No. 1? by Michael Ventura, Austin Chronicle, January 21, 2005
A misguided attempt to indicate that by being below #1 or the top 10 in some economic categories, the U.S. is somehow deficient. However, a proper understanding of economics would show that in some of the categories, a country is more prosperous if it isn't #1.

iShares Lehman 20+ Year Treas Bond (Symbol = TLT)
A relatively new long-term bond fund that is 99% invested in Treasury bonds, never shorter in maturity than 20 years. Thus this is a suitable replacement you can use instead of buying the bonds directly yourself. I still prefer owning the actual bonds, but if that's not possible (for example, because of limitations in a tax-deferred account), you can use this fund. It's traded on an exchange, so any broker can acquire it for you. This link is to Yahoo's mutual fund site, the TLT page. Notice on the left side there are other pages providing information for this fund.

Keep What You Earn by Terry Coxon
A valuable guide to reducing your tax burden. Contains simple solutions and much more sophisticated solutions, so you can pick what's appropriate for you. This link is to Barnes & Noble's used books — specifically to dealers affiliated with B&N who have copies of this book available at reasonable prices.

Amazon also has an excellent used book service, but it currently links to just one seller for this book, and that dealer is asking $100 for his copy. But check back every few days to this link, and you'll probably find copies available at a much more reasonable price.

Terry Coxon himself is available for consultations. You can email him at TerryCoxon@cs.com, and inquire whether your his service is appropriate for your situation.
